Corneal oedema in ocular hypotony

The authors describe the pattern of corneal oedema observed in five patients with chronic hypotony. The patients had marked stromal edema from presumed endothelial dysfunction, but no epithelial edema. These observations corroborate the concept that the intraocular pressure is the driving force in the generation of epithelial edema.
