The contents of nitric oxide (NO) stable metabolites in the tears and blood serum of patients with different stages of open-angle glaucoma have been studied. Increase of NO stable metabolite contents was found in tears, aqueous humor, and blood serum during glaucoma progression. The depletion of the glaucoma pathogenesis oxidative link was found during the terminal stage of the disease. It is proposed that the results of this investigation should be used for the diagnosis of glaucoma. LA: Russian
