AIM: To evaluate the long-term effect of trabeculectomy under microscope on treating glaucoma. METHODS: Trabeculectomy was taken in 31 cases (37 eyes) and the results were summarized. Factors such as early application of mydriatic after operation, precise positing during operation, moderate suture of sclera lamella and paracentesis of anterior chamber for refractory high intraocular pressure before operation, may affect the results of treatment. RESULTS: During the follow-up of 2a, the operation turned to be successful in 29 cases (35 eyes) and failed in the other 2 cases (2 eyes). CONCLUSION: Trabeculectomy under microscope has no severe complication or trauma, with high success rate. LA: Chinese
