AIM OF INVESTIGATION: Analysis of the cataract phacoemulsification results with IOL implantation on eyes with the earlier operated glaucoma depending on the glaucomatous process stages. MATERIAL & METHODS: Phacoemulsification was performed in 21 patients (52-81 years old). The following investigations had been performed before surgery: visometry, tonometry, biomicroscopy, perimetry, ophtalmoscopy, echo-biometry, refractometry, lensmetry. The surgery was performed on the "KATAREX" phacoemulsificator. 'AcrySof' lenses were implanted to 8 patients (8 eyes), 'Crystal' lenses - to 7 patients (7 eyes), 'Nederlens' lenses - to 6 patients (6 eyes). RESULTS: In most patients the surgery and the postoperative period have passed without any complications. The visual acuity without correction had achieved to 0,2-0,4; with correction = 0,5-0,7. The phacoemulsification of cataract and IOL implantation didn't significantly influence the ophthalmotonus level because no patient had revealed any IOP increase during the whole period. Thus, on the earlier operated glaucoma eyes the phacoemulsification with IOL implantation makes it feasible to obtain the high functional results depending on the glaucomatous process stages.
