AIM: To evaluate the therapeutic effects of combined laser technique for treating primary angle-closure glaucoma. METHODS: Sixty-two cases (88 eyes) of primary angle-closure glaucoma with goniosynechia over 180° were treated with combined laser technique, including peripheral irdoplasty (LPI) and Na-YAG laser iridectomy. RESULTS: During the follow-up ranging from 6 mo to 2 a, the intraocular pressures (IOP) of 80 eyes were controlled below 21 mmHg (91%) and all the anterior chamber angle of the 88 eyes reopened to various degrees. There were no severe postoperative complications except increased transient IOP and iritis reaction. CONCLUSION: The combined laser technique is an ideal method for the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma. LA: Chinese
