AIM: To study the mechanism of secondary glaucoma derived from blunt trauma lens dislocation as well as its therapeutic effect. METHODS: Different therapeutic methods were used for 20 patients with secondary glaucoma derived from blunt traumatic lens dislocation according to their injury conditions. RESULTS: Of the 20 cases, 14 cases underwent surgeries (70%). The other 6 cases underwent conservative treatment (30%). The intraocular pressure (IOP) in most cases could be effectively controlled after treatment. CONCLUSION: The clinical manifestation of secondary glaucoma derived from blunt trauma lens dislocation was complex, and the treatment should be properly done with timely removal of pupil blockage, so as to reduce IOP and to save patients' vision.
