The authors evaluated the bandage effect of a megasoft bandage lens applied for two days after trabeculectomy with mitomicin C in 11 eyes of glaucoma. The series comprised open-angle glaucoma (nine eyes) and closed-angle glaucoma (two eyes). The intraocular pressure averaged 2.96±0.44 mm before and 2.77±0.62 mmHg three days after surgery. The anterior chamber depth averaged 19.5±0.46 mm before surgery, 7.6±2.2 mmHg at seven days and 14.1±2.8 mmHg at 12 months after surgery. Complications due to contact lens wear were consistently absent.
