AIM: To evaluate the effect of the individual surgical project on Weill-Marchesani syndrome patients. METHODS: Three patients (6 eyes, fewer than 25 years old) with Weill-Marchesani syndrome who developed high myopia, spherophakia, two of them with glaucoma, were studied. Two patients underwent clear lens extraction and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. The other underwent clear lens extraction, IOL implantation and compound trabeculectomy. Their postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure (IOP) and the position of IOL were recorded. RESULTS: At the 3-month follow-up, the postoperative visual acuities of three patients were markedly improved, which better than 0.5 in all eyes with IOL normotopia and normal IOP. CONCLUSION: Taken individual surgical approach on Weill-Marchesani syndrome patients achieves satisfactory curative effect. LA: Chinese
