In order to better understand the role of antioxidant system in primary glaucoma, the authors decided to study a new method for glutathione quantitation in aqueous humor by capillary electrophoresis (CE). Their aim was to find a rapid nd reliable technique in order to measure the amount of GSH and GSSG in the aqueous humor of glaucomatous and normal subjects. Reduced and oxidized glutathione were dosed in aqueous samples of 20 patients (group A) who had undergone tracula. As a control group, the authors selected ten healthy patients (group B) who had undergone surgery for pterygium. The results are reported. LA: Italian
