An ocular endoscope enables a goniotomy despite a cloudy cornea

This is a description of the use of an ocular endoscope to perform goniotomy. A case is reported of a 19-month-old girl with congenital glaucoma. Bilateral goniotomy was performed with the aid of a coaxial endoscope. The method had previously been tested in cadaver eyes and in rabbits with congenital glaucoma. Coaxial alignment requires only one corneal incision, and permits the lancet tip to be continuously viewed on the video screen as it incises the angle structures. The authors are enthusiastic about the method.
