AIM: To evaluate the methods and techniques in non-suture clear corneal incision (5.5 mm) phacoemulsification with PMMA IOL implantation for complicated cataract patients after glaucoma surgery. METHODS: Phacoemulsification through 3.2 mm clear corneal incision and PMMA IOL implantation through the enlarged corneal incision (5.5 mm) were carried out in 62 cataract patients after glaucoma surgery. Visual acuity, intraocular pressure and anterior chamber depth were observed for one to three months postoperatively. RESULTS: Visual acuity was improved in all patients. 58(94%) patients achieved the visual acuity of ≥0.1 and 40 (64%) ≥ 0.3 at one week postoperatively. Seven eyes had postoperative shallow chamber and seven eyes had corneal edema. CONCLUSION: Non-suture clear corneal incision phacoemulsification with PMMA IOL implantation in patients after glaucoma surgery is safe and effective. LA: Chinese
