A 4-year-old boy first exhibited vitiligo on the buttocks when he was 3 years old. It spread over the eyelids, face, trunk and extremities. He had been treated, with a first diagnosis of vitiligo vulgaris. At the age of four, corneal opacity and visual acuity loss occurred, and a diagnosis of cataract was added. His final diagnosis was Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome complicated with secondary cataract and glaucoma. Since VKH syndrome with vitiligo in a child is rare, we reviewed the characteristic features of 20 reported cases of VKH syndrome under the age of 10 years from 1966 to the present. LA: Japanese
