AIM: To call for the ophthalmologists to pay sufficient attention to the intraocular pressure (IOP). METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 29 cases diagnosed glaucoma by the examinations of visual acuity, anterior segment (including anterior chamber angle), fundus, IOP, visual field and visual electrophysiology, etc., which had no IOP in the ophthalmic medical records since the first diagnosis. RESULTS: All 29 cases of glaucoma were missed diagnosed or misdiagnosed. CONCLUSION: IOP measurement and record should be done routinely in the eye of patients over 40 years old and high risk groups of primary open angle glaucoma in different ages such as high myopia, to avoid the missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis of glaucoma and medical dispute.
