AIM: To probe into the effect of the different size incision of conjunctival flap as fundus by dome in the shape of filtration bleb and intraocular pressure after trabeculectomy. METHODS: Totally 66 eyes of 61 cases were randomly divided into two groups according to the different size incision of conjunctival flap. Group A: 33 eyes of big conjunctival flap (three of the clock); Group B: 33 eyes of small conjunctival flap (two of the clock). Postoperative the shape of filtration bleb and intraocular pressure were closely observed. RESULTS: Postoperative functional filtration bleb formation rate: group A(91%) > group B(73%); intraocular pressure control rate: group A (94%) > group B (76%). CONCLUSION: Using the big conjunctival flap as fundus by dome can improve postoperative functional filtration bleb formation rate, so that intraocular pressure may be controlled better. LA: Chinese
