AIM: To evaluate phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for cataract after glaucoma filtering surgery. METHODS: Phacoemulsification through temporal clear corneal incision and foldable IOL implantation were run in 35 cases (41 eyes) of cataract after glaucoma filtering surgery. Visual acuity (VA), intraocular pressure (IOP), filtering bleb and presence of complications were recorded. RESULTS: VA of all the patients were improved in varying degrees. There were no significant changes in IOP and filtering bleb after 1-2 years follow-up. CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification through temporal clear corneal incision and foldable IOL implantation may be a safe and effective way for cataract after glaucoma filtering surgery. LA: Chinese
