Application of the combined trabeculectomy in the treatment of glaucoma

AIM: To compare the effect of combined trabeculectomy in treating glaucoma. METHODS: Combined trabeculectomy (the reduction of bore of trabeculectomy combined with mitomycin and adjustable suture) was used on 76 patients (82 eyes) of glaucoma in our hospital. The conditions of anterior chambers, vision change, intraocular pressure, filtering blebs and other complications after the operation were observed. RESULTS: Combined trabeculectomy can decrease most kinds of surgery complications. CONCLUSION: Combined trabeculectomy is effective, safe and of few complications after operation, and thus is an ideal operation method to treat glaucoma. LA: Chinese
