Investigation of YAG laser iris roots piercing and prevention of malignant glaucoma

AIM: To investigate YAG laser iris roots piercing for the prevention of malignant glaucoma. METHODS: YAG laser iris roots piercing was performed in early malignant glaucoma patients who were refractory for conservative treatment, which can communicate anterior chamber and posterior chamber and promote the formation of anterior chamber. RESULTS: For prophase malignant glaucoma patients who were refractory for conservative treatment, YAG laser iris roots piercing could prevent development of the disease. CONCLUSION: YAG laser iris roots piercing can effectively prevent the incidence of malignant glaucoma. LA: Chinese
