Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been widely used in the optic nerve change of anatomy and function in glaucoma. MRI is a new and stable technology in assessing the injury of optic nerve. Now there are some kinds of method used widely: diffusion tensor imaging (DTI); functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI); manganese enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MeMRI) and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
