Glaucoma is a progressive optic neuropathy characte rized by structural changes of the optic nerve, which may eventually develop into irreversible visual functional defects. Therefore, it needs early detection. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an accurate and reproducible method to measure retinal nerve fiber layer thickness and the optic disc parameters, it may show promise in early detection of glaucoma. This review primarily describes the technology in the early diagnosis of glaucoma. LA: Chinese
