AIM: To evaluate the effects of complex trabeculectomy in treatment of secondary glaucoma after silicone oil filling. METHODS: Eleven cases 11 eyes with secondary glaucoma after silicone oil filling were treated with complex trabeculectomy since Oct. 2003 to Dec. 2008. Clinical observations were carried out on filtering bleb, intraocular pressure (IOP) and vision. RESULTS: High rate of functional filtering bleb formation was achieved after complex trabeculectomy. IOP was 52.3 (plus or minus) 11.5mmHg before operation and 15.4 (plus or minus) 8.3mmHg after operation, IOP was significantly dropped (P < 0.01). 4 eyes (36%) had vision improved and 5 eyes (45%) had equal vision with preoperation, 2 eyes (18%) with vision decreased. CONCLUSION: Complex trabeculectomy can treat secondary glaucoma after silicone oil filling effectively.LA: Chinese
