Clinical observation of phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis for angle-closure glaucoma with cataract

AIM: To observe clinical effect of phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis for angle-closure glaucoma with cataract. METHODS: Totally 56 patients 60 eyes with cataract and angle-closure glaucoma underwent transparency corneal incision cataract phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis by topical anaesthesia. RESULTS: Intraocular pressure (22-28mmHg) elevated in 3 eyes in 1 week, and in the follow-up of 3 to 12 months, intraocular pressure decreased to normal range after treatment. Visual acuity, central anterior chamber depth and angle were improved after operation. CONCLUSION: For patients with angle-closure glaucoma and cataract, phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis is a convenient, safe and effective method, and have the effects of depressurization and improving vision.
