This article reports a study of the effect of 5-minute intraoperative exposures to 3 different doses of daunorubicin (DNR) on glaucoma filtration surgery (GFS) in rabbits. The rabbits' eyes were treated with DNR (0.2 mg/ml, 0.4 mg/ml, or 0.8 mg/ml) or saline solution (control group). Intraocular treatment with DNR at a dose of 0.4 mg/ml had a markedly beneficial effect on intraocular pressure and bleb appearance after GFS in rabbits.
