We reviewed 6 eyes of 4 patients with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease which underwent simultaneous cataract surgery and trabeculectomy for complicated cataract and secondary glaucoma. The interval between onset of VKH disease and surgery ranged from 23 to 77 months, average 60 months. The ages ranged from 61 to 68 years, average 65 years. In all the eyes, the intraocular pressure was maintained under 20 mmHg without medication for 15 months postoperatively. The corrected visual acuity improved in all the eyes. There was no case which developed exacerbation of intraocular inflammation or other severe complications. The findings show the usefulness of the combined surgery for complications of VKH disease.
