The authors used indocyanine green fluorescence angiography to compare the location of the watershed zone (WZ) relative to the optic nerve head (ONH) in 64 eyes of 32 patients with normal-tension glaucoma, and 28 eyes of 14 patients without glaucoma. They classified the location of the WZ as not including the ONH, partially including the ONH, or including the ONH. In both patients with and without glaucoma, more than 50% had the same classification of WZ location in both eyes. In addition, there was no significant difference in the distribution of WZ location between eyes with and without glaucoma. These results show that there is no characteristic WZ location in patients with glaucoma. LA: Japanese
