the authors discuss a paper in which taxane induced glaucoma was described in a young patient with metastatic breast cancer who underwent chemotherapy with both low dose and high dose corticosteroid treatment. The corresponding authors argue that this clinical scenario is concistent with steroid induced glaucoma. They feel that steroid induced glaucoma is under diagnosed. Thus the case is really one of a severe glaucoma that developed after administration of steroid treatment. The original authors do not agree with the conclusion of the corresponding authors. In fact they feel that the recurrence of an episode of high pressure when the patient was taking taxane and the fact that she had never had such an episode when taking corticosteroids outside chemotherapy, prompted them to decide taxane induced glaucoma was the most probable diagnosis.
