In this short paper the authors present 6 eyes of 4 patients in which they have taken conjunctival grafts from the fornix to repair leaking blebs. The point made by these authors is that by taking grafts from the fornix they can preserve potential filtration sites. These authors believe that at least 5 mm from the limbus should be left to perform successful filtering surgery. Simple calculation tells us that enough conjunctiva is left for a free graft. Whether this is necessary is another matter as the use of lower half filtration site is not to be recommended. This means that one could always harvest free conjunctival autografts fromm the lower conjuntiva. This is not mentioned in this letter.
