PURPOSE: To evaluate IOP changes after phacotrabeculectomy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Twenty-four glaucoma patients (27 eyes) with coexistence of cataract, aged 56-79 years. The mean IOP level before surgery was 23.2±2.4 mmHg. In all cases, phacotrabeculectomy was performed. Follow-up ranged from three to 12 months. RESULTS: IOP decrease after surgery was achieved, as follows: mean decrease 7.1±2.3 mmHg after three months and 5.5±2.4 mmHg and 4.1±2.1 mmHg after six and 12 months, respectively. CONCLUSION: Phacotrabeculectomy combines all the advantages of phacoemulsification and creates perspectives for the normalization of IOP. LA: Polish
