Abstract #5922 Published in IGR 2-1

Difficulties in the diagnosis of glaucoma; the therapeutic implications

Apostol S; Carstocea B
Oftalmologia 1999; 47:85-94

Most of the time, glaucomatous disease has an insidious beginning; diagnosis is occasioned by some refraction problems or by a systematic ophthalmological examination or a request from another physician. As a consequence, the diagnosis of glaucoma is not always very easy, because, in the early stages, the diagnostic criteria give special problems. In these conditions, the therapeutical attitude will be different from one case to another. After these general considerations, the authors will discuss some clinical cases, in the knowledge that the diagnosis and initiation of treatment will give rise to some contradictory discussions.
