The authors examined 157 eyes of 82 glaucoma patients who had been treated by topical instillation of isopropyl unoprostone ophthalmic solution. The series comprised 74 eyes of 40 males and 83 eyes of 42 females. Hypertrichosis was present in 32 eyes of 19 patients (20%), or in nine male (12%) and 23 females (28%) eyes. The difference was significant (p < 0.05). The incidence was almost the same, at about 20%, throughout the age ranges from the fifth to ninth decades. Hypertrichosis was present in 15 of 65 eyes (23%) treated by unoprostone alone and in 17 of 92 eyes (19%) also treated by other topical medications. The difference was not significant. LA: Japanese
