Conjunctival hyperemia following instillation of latanoprost and isopropyl unoprostone

The authors instilled latanoprost in one eye and isopropyl unoprostone in the fellow eye of 38 healthy volunteers. One hour after instillation, clinically detectable conjunctival hyperemia developed in 14 eyes (37%) instilled with latanoprost and in two eyes (5%) instilled with isopropyl unoprostone. These findings show the necessity of a due explanation before initial prescription of latanoprost for glaucoma. LA: Japanese
