A 23-year-old male presented with blurring of right eye five months previously. His intraocular pressure (IOP) was 51 mmHg right and 21 mmHg left. Both eyes showed thickening of the ring of Schwalbe and high insertion of the iris. He was diagnosed with bilateral developmental glaucoma. His right cornea showed band-like thinning in its inferior portion, with protrusion more superiorly. Keratometry showed astigmatism of 8.75 diopters. The right eye was diagnosed with pellucid marginal corneal degeneration. Filtering surgery induced normalization of IOP in the right eye. Postsurgically, the corneal astigmatism decreased, with no change in the shape of the cornea.LA: Japanese
