The morning glory syndrome is an uncommon congenital optic disc anomaly. It is characterized by a funnel-shaped and enlarged dysplasic optic disc with white tissue, and retinal vessels arising from the periphery of the disc and running an abnormally straight course over the peripapillary retina. The authors report the case of a seven-year-old girl with delayed diagnosis of morning glory syndrome discovered at a regular examination that showed amblyopia. The optic disc anomaly was isolated. The search for other associated morphological and/or functional abnormalities is mandatory (retinal and/or cerebral malformation, frontonasal dysplasia, endocrine irregularities, neurofibromatosis type 2). Periodic ophthalmological examinations are recommended due to the frequency of retinal detachment.LA: French
