A complex neuroprotective therapy, including a new Russian neuropeptide, semax, was used in the treatment of glaucoma patients with normalized ophthalmic tone. Electrophysiological and computer methods of examination demonstrated the advantages of the new therapy over traditional neuroprotective treatment for glaucoma. Its efficiency is due to the pathogenetic activity of semax, which possesses both neuroprotective and neurotrophic effects.LA: Russian
