Glaucoma filtration surgery usually fails because of postoperative fibroblast proliferation, collagen deposition. and bleb scarring. Applications of antiscaring drugs improve the success rate. Antimetabolites, interferins, and heperin were used experimentally and clinically for glaucoma filtering surgery. The evaluation of these drugs and the selection of more effective drug delivery systems are very important.
