PURPOSE: To mensurate the concentration of β-tp in human aqueous. METHODS: We assayed β-tp in aqueous of 124 cataract patients (124 eyes), 15 glaucoma patients (15 eyes) and 8 RD patients (8 eyes) with ELISA. RESULTS: The concentration of β-tp in aqueous was (1.08 ± 0.75) x 10 -2 ng/L in cataract patients male (1.12 ± 0.78) x 10-2 ng/L, female (1.07 ± 0.76) x 10-2 ng/L, (1.09 ± 0.75) x 10-2 ng/L in patients older than 60 and (1.27 ± 0.82) x 10-2 ng/L in those below 60. In glaucoma patients, the concentration of β-tp was (0.67 ± 0.21) x 10-2 ng/L and in RD patients it was (0.90 ± 0.30) x 10-2 ng/L. CONCLUSIONS: The concentration of β-tp has no relation with gender or age, and there was no difference between cataract patients and glaucoma patients. LA: Chinese
