We evaluated the comfort and compliance of brinzolamide twice daily switched from dorzolamide thrice daily in 25 eyes of 25 glaucoma patients. The series comprised primary open-angle glaucoma 17 eyes, normal-tension glaucoma 3 eyes, capsular glaucoma 1 eye, primary closed-angle glaucoma 1 eye, and late-onset developmental glaucoma 3 eyes. All had been treated by multiple medications. After 8 weeks of brinzolamide, 20 patients preferred brinzolamide and 5 patients preferred dorzolamide. Both medications showed stickiness and white eyelid secretion, dorzolamide was less irritable. Better compliance resulted from use of brinzolamide because of lesser frequency of instillation.
