This study investigates the efficacy and tolerance of dorzolamide topically as an alternative to acetazolamide in nine patients with secondary inflammatory glaucoma associated with juvenile chronic arthritis. After six months on dorzolamide, six patients still responded to topical treatment with significantly lower intraocular pressure (12.1±1.6 mmHg) compared with acetazolamide therapy (18.3±0.7 mmHg). No clinically significant side-effects were reported.
