A randomized, double-masked study was conducted to evaluate the duration of action of a single application of brimonidine tartrate at different concentrations (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%) in healthy volunteers and in patients with chronic open angle glaucoma. Intraocular pressure was determined by applanation tonometry, and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Bonferroni correction and the chi² test were used for the statistical evaluations. The results demonstrate that all the concentrations of brimonidine tartrate lower the IOP, but the 0.2% concentration showed a greater effect in both groups.LA: Italian
