A randomized, double-masked study was conducted to evaluate the duration of action of a single application of brimonidine tartrate at different concentrations (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%) in healthy volunteers and in patients with chronic open angle glaucoma. Intraocular pressure was determined by applanation tonometry, and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Bonferroni correction and the chi2 test were used for the statistical evaluations. The results demonstrate that all the concentrations of brimonidine tartrate lower the IOP, but the 0.2% concentration showed a greater effect in both groups.LA: Italian
