OBJECTIVE: To look for a new method of filtering surgery for glaucoma. METHODS: A 4-mm incision upper corneal limbus 1 mm was made, the incision was about half the depth of the cornea. It was disassociated to 3 mm of post-corneal limbus on the sclera and formed a scleral bag. Through the base of the bag, the authors punctured to the subconjunctive and excised a small sclera at the base of the bag to form an external passage, regular trabeculectomy was used at corneal limbus as an internal passage. RESULTS: There were ten patients with obvious filtering bleb of bulbar conjunctive after the operation and their ocular tension was controlled at the normal range. CONCLUSIONS: This operation was a new and effective filtering surgery. It avoided the formation of filtering cicatrix which leads to operative failure. LA: Chinese
