Pediatric neurologist can play a crucial role in the management of eye problems in children. Vision screening should be part of routine care in children. Even with limited equipment, pediatric neurologist can identify most important causes of vision loss. It is important for pediatric neurologist to be alert to the manifestations of primary congenital glaucoma, regardless of the reason for the patient's visit. Early recognition and timely referral may help reduce the consequences of this potentially devastating disorder. The diagnosis may be suspected by pediatric neurologist or concerned parents but is established only by careful ophthalmologic evaluation, sometimes under general anesthesia. It is also possible that some affected individuals have mild presentation with subtile clinical findings.
