AIM: To investigate the relationship between intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT), axial length of globe (ALG), coefficient of ocular rigidity (COR) in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) patients with myopia and normal subjects with myopia, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of these indicators to POAG. METHODS: The CCT, ALG, COR and IOP were measured in 118 cases (210 eyes) with POAG and 58 normal subjects (116 eyes). Furthermore, according to different diopters, both POAG group and control group were subdivided into three groups: emmetropia, low and moderate myopia, high myopia. The differences of CCT, ALG, COR and IOP in the same group and between two groups were compared by statistical method. RESULTS: In the control group, the CCT and ALG were positively correlated with the IOP (r(1) = 0. 351, r2 = 0. 883). There were significant differences in CCT and ALG between POAG group and control group (P < 0. 01). In the same group, the CCT decreased as the diopter increased, whereas the ALG increased as the diopter increased. CONCLUSION: Recognizing the clinical characteristics of myopia may help us to improve the early diagnosis level of myopia combined with POAG. LA: Chinese
