Glaucoma may come out after congenital cataract surgeries in some patients. It is often ignored because of the young age. With the introduction of microsurgery and modern techniques, angle-closure glaucoma with papillary block after lensectomy has become less common. Now, majority of glaucoma following pediatric cataract surgery are of the late-onset open angle type. The risk factors of onset are as follows: undergoing surgeries at a young age, microcornea, nuclear cataract and persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV). Researches showed that the follow-up time in the first year after cataract surgery is at a interval of 3 months. The interval of follow-up can be extended later up to lifespan. Medicine management will is the first choice for this type of glaucoma. Antibiotic drugs should be used during the operation. Good outcome can be seen in the combination of draining implants and ciliary photocoagulation and antimetabolic drug. LA: Chinese
