AIM: To evaluate the significance of six points relative quantitative measurement of the anterior chamber depth to early diagnosis of angle-closure glaucoma. METHODS: A total of 247 patients (491 eyes) with shallow anterior chamber were measured by this measurement and by dark room test. RESULTS: In all 491 eyes, there were positive results of 105 eyes in 201 eyes with A (less-than or equal to) 1/3, B (less-than or equal to) 1/3 by dark room test, the positive rate was 52.2%. There was positive result of 1 eye in 250 eyes with A = 1/3, B > 1/3 by dark room test. There was no positive result in 40 eyes with A > 1/3 by dark room test. CONCLUSION: The above results show that the six points relative quantitative measurement of the anterior chamber depth is an important method of early diagnosis of angle-closure glaucoma.
