Twenty-one eyes of 13 patients with juvenile glaucoma confirmed by ocular tension, vision, eye ground and gonioscope underwent trabeculectomy combined with amniotic membrane transplantation. The posttransplant intraocular pressure significantly decreased compared to pretreatment (P < 0.05). Of 21 eyes, functional and non-functional filtering blebs were observed in 17 and 4 eyes, respectively. The total success rate was 89.48%. After transplantation, five cases with shallow of anterior chamber and two cases with hyphema. They all recovered in a week by conservative treatment. Trabeculectomy combined with amniotic membrane transplantation is a safe and effective approach to improve operative success rate. LA: Chinese
