Glaucoma is characterized by elevated intraocular pressure associated with optic disk cupping and visual field loss. So glaucoma become one of leading causes of blindness. There are many factors can lead to glaucoma, and high intraocular pressure (IOP) has been shown to be a key risk factor for the rehibitation of visual acuity in glaucoma. The treatments and the precautions of glaucoma are comprehensive. Recently years, the roles of the local renin-Angiotensin system ( RAS) are studied more and more, and the influence of the RAS on glaucoma also was payed close attention. The local renin-Angiotensin system (RAS) is widely existed in majority of eye tissues and plays important role in regulating aqueous humour dynamics and therefore IOP. Effects of RAS on the diagnosis, treatment, pathology and progress of glaucoma were discussed in this article. LA: Chinese
