OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to see if the use of topical Mometasone Furoate for the treatment of rhinitis provokes elevation of intraocular pressure. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A comparative, double blind, experimental, prospective and longitudinal study to measure the intraocular pressure of patients at three and six weeks, three and six months, and one year. RESULTS: There were some modifications in intraocular pressure, but these did not exceed normal parameters. CONCLUSIONS: Mometasone furoate is safe and does not cause a rise in intraocular pressure.
