Holmium laser sclerostomy: a 3-year follow-up

Hansen JA; Hansen TE
Annals of Ophthalmology - Glaucoma 2000; 32: 113-115

Holmium laser sclerostomy has been introduced as an alternative to standard external filtering glaucoma procedures. The authors evaluated this procedure in a prospective study of 40 holmium laser sclerostomies performed at their clinic and followed for four years. Antimetabolites were not used. Based on their results, the authors concluded that holmium laser sclerostomy performed without antimetabolites has a lower success rate than trabeculectomy.
