The authors evaluated the effect on intraocular pressure (IOP) of one month of treatment with latanoprost and the safety of double-medication administration in 40 eyes of patients with glaucoma who were also receiving unoprostone. With unoprostone but before starting latanoprost, mean ± 1 SD) IOP in the 40 eyes was 19.6 ± 5.5 mmHg, and after one month of latanoptost in addition to unoprostone, it was 16.9 ± 4. 7 mmHg (p < 0.001). No additional side-effects from administering the two medications together were noted. These results suggest that latanoprost provides additional hypotensive effect when administered in eyes with glaucoma in patients receiving unoprostone. LA: Japanese
