In addition to atopic eczema, contact allergies are the main cause of recurring periorbital eczema. There are few case reports on periorbital contact dermatitis due to topical therapy of glaucoma, especially of parasympathicomimetics causing contact eczema. The authors report on a 69-year old female patient with bilateral periorbital eczema. Due to glaucoma, she received several local antiglaucomatosa within the past few years. The patch-test revealed an allergic reaction for Aceclidin (Glaucotat®). Contact allergies due to topical cholinergica are only rarely found. However, their sensitization potential should not be underestimated, especially in glaucoma patients.LA: German
