Instillation of isopropyl unoprostone was replaced by topical latanoprost in 44 glaucoma eyes of 27 patients. The series comprised primary open-angle glaucoma (38 eyes), normal-tension glaucoma (two eyes), developmental glaucoma (two eyes), and steroid glaucoma (two eyes). Intraocular pressure averaged 17.7 ± 3.4 mmHg before introduction of latanoprost. It decreased significantly one, three, and six months after treatment with latanoprost (p = 0.01). After observation for an average of 14.4 ± 2.8 months, there was a significant increase in mean deviation on Humphrey perimetry (p = 0.02). The finding shows that replacement of topical unoprostone by latanoprost may improve the visual field in glaucoma. LA: Japanese
